direct upgrades are never a good thing in a game in my opinion, each weapon that is in a game should have something that makes it worth being used. While there are 2 weapons that you could consider saw cleaver reskins, they still play differently enough for each of them to be worth being used. There is 1 exploding hammer and its worth being used. There aren't 2 hammers that explode, with one of them just having a bigger explosion and being therefore better. No weapon feels like its just a straight upgrade to another weapon. Now here in Bloodborne, while there are still weapons that are similar, they all play somewhat differently. An example for a good off meta weapon would be the aquamarine dagger in DS3, there is a very good reason for why this weapon isn't meta, but its different, and therefore is actually worth being used. There are just so many weapons that have no reason to even exist, not even for off meta builds. There is absolutely no reason to use the mace over the morning star, the morning star has better scaling, does more damage and has bleed. Or the mace and the morning star in Elden Ring. For example in DS3, the club and the reinforced club, there is quite literally and objectively no reason to use the normal club over the reinforced one, not even for off meta builds, the reinforced club does everything the normal club does but substantially better. In Demon's Souls all the way through Elden Ring, there are just weapons that have no right existing. This right here is in my opinion how you do weapons. Trick Weapons have a regular and transformed mode which varies greatly depending on the weapon. Trick Weapons will primarily be held in the right hand and Firearms will be held in the left. You may equip two weapons in each hand and rotate between them. A player's character will be able to dedicate themselves to mastering one weapon, with its rich movesets that affect output damages per move and the Blood Gem Imprints that determine its extra bonuses. Players must choose weapons that suit their style of play and preference. The Walkthrough is organized into the main areas of the game - with some being optional content that is not needed to progress, but the experience and items gained makes it generally worth exploring.Ĭertain areas can also be explored out of order, though game events that occur can make areas harder later in the game.Weapons in Bloodborne are a very strategic and important choice for the player.
